A little red in the face…

So I am officially a Greenpeace employee.  I never thought I would add activist to the resume.  It doesn’t stop there.  Oh no, you know me.  When I do something I tend to be a little hardcore about it.  I have an interview with Clean Water Action tomorrow.  Which means that I have the job.  It will be the secondary.  To fill the gaps of the weekend, in an attempt to make the most money possible while I can, I am trying to get in with a democratic grassroots campaign for the midterms.  I think I will be dead by X-mas, figuratively speaking.

    Hopefully ringing doorbells for
various cash-hungry non-profits will do for a while. From what I’ve heard about it, it doesn’t sound lucrative or all that pleasant.

The Green Party is really big
in California, with hundreds of people in some sort of elected office (which includes dog-catchers
I reckon). There is a GP candidate
for Mayor of Oakland (see link below). I don’t know if they can
pay anything or not, but I expect
you may find the GP stuff more
    interesting and more likely to
    make an actual difference than
    the other groups.

Actually, I am not going door to door. Everyday I am in a different part of the city standing on a streetcorner and stopping people. It’s actually really pleasing. I like my job and if the days remain the same as the past couple I could see myself loving it. As for the Clean Water Action, we will see. I start on wednesday of next week. I’m learning alot and getting paid very very well for a non-profit. More than I was doing construction back east. I feel great about what I am doing. Thanks for the info though. I’ll look into it.
